Speaking of walls, if you want to enlarge space, choose light pastel colors, and your ceiling should be a shade lighter than your walls – that`s a general rule for small spaces. That doesn`t mean you can`t use darker, saturated shades, as they add depth to your space. A good design idea for a small bedroom will be painting one wall in darker tint and leaving others light. Using mirrors may also help to visually enlarge space.

Besides mirrors, there are other design tricks intended to make your small bedroom appear larger, such as using diagonal parquet or laminate, leaving the space opposite to the door empty, using blinds instead of curtains, using sliding doors and getting rid of all the unnecessary decorations such as heavily framed pictures, etc. You should leave some of the décor items, though – your small bedroom may look boring completely without them.
