Don’t fill the bedroom with unnecessary furniture and place it in such a way it will not distract you or will be felt out of place. Probably the most important advice of all would be regarding the bed itself. Modern furniture is nice and easy to handle, but nothing compares to going back to our roots and buying wooden beds for our bedrooms. I don’t know anyone who doesn’t like wood and when it comes to the place where you sleep, wood will always make you feel welcomed and will give you a warmth feeling. Next, why don’t you try to get some privacy? Do you feel like somebody is watching you all the time? That kind of anxiety can act in a subconscious level even if you don’t really care somebody is watching or not and can have a negative impact on your sleep. Try floor-to-ceiling draperies and your life might get better afterwards, who would’ve thought at that. Last but not least don’t forget about the furniture at the foot of the bed. If space allows you to, place a couple of small pieces with a lush fabric that can act as extra storage....

Suggestions on making your bedroom cosier

The bedroom is the place where you spend almost half of your lifetime so you better make sure that it is as welcoming as possible and that it will get you a good night’s sleep. Why do you do for a cosy bedroom and a good night’s sleep? Buy a bedroom set of course. But what else? Try a darker hue as it will help you relax, opposite to lighter colours and adjust the lighting accordingly. A fireplace would help but of course that it is handier to choose a soft lighting option. Buy a layer rug that feels warm underfoot arrange them in certain patters for a more comfortable look and let the blankets lay all over your bed. If possible, create a canopy and cocoon yourself until late in the afternoon on those cold and rainy Sundays and forget about everything. You will recharge your batteries full and will feel invincible on Monday, perhaps. Part of the same principle, bring on the pillows. If you’ve been looking at one of the rooms in your home and wondering how you can bring it to life, it could be time for an interior design project, but how can you be sure everything you select will work not only within the space, but with everything else too? And is there a way to future-proof (to a certain extent) your interior project? Well, we think that taking the layer approach to home decoration could be the solution. Earlier this month, interior designer Caitlin McBride told the Huffington Post about a host of her top tips, all based on this concept of layering your room. Redoing your house is a very exciting time. One of the quickest ways of giving it a bit of a facelift is by replacing all your old home furniture with new ones. How To Achieve Sherlock-Inspired Home Decor

With one of the most popular TV shows back on our TV screens again. We here at Furniture in Fashion thought we'd take some time out to come up with a few ideas for transforming your home decor. And giving it a bit of a Sherlock-inspired makeover this year. Sherlock itself is a fantastic crime drama TV series based on the famous books. The books by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle and starring Benedict Cumberbatch, Martin Freeman and Mark Gatiss. It first aired in 2010 and the latest three episodes have just aired on the BBC (although this season doesn't appear to have been quite as well received as previous ones). It's won all sorts of Emmy Awards and has been critically acclaimed by all sorts.
