Get rid of the old rugs

One of the best ways to give your hallway a fresh spring look is to get rid of the old worn out rugs. After all, rugs and mats are rather expandable accessories, and regular replacement is a reasonable thing to do. You can, of course, try and dry clean the old piece to give it a new look, but the cost and effort are generally not worth it.

Move furniture to clean wipe all the dust

One of the most important tips for spring cleaning your hallway is not to let it slide. Apply some effort and move your furniture  (if any) around. This is the only way to get rid of all the dust and the mess. After you are done, you will see how easier it is to breathe in a clean, dust-free hallway.

Aim higher with the duster

Spring cleaning of hallway furniture sets involves plenty of dusting. If your entrance in furnished with high cabinets or compact wardrobes with shelves, you should aim higher and reach out to every shelf — even the one right next to the ceiling. Once again, this is the only way to ensure careful, proper cleaning.

Give glass and mirrors a sparkling look

If your hallway furniture has some glass inserts, it is also time to clean them for a sparkling look. Nothing will put you and your family into better mood than sparkling clean glass. In fact, it will give the whole hallway a brighter look. As you are cleaning glass, do not forget about the mirrors — the principle is the same.

Let the handles shine

Any metal, chrome, or steel furniture handles can be easily wiped with alcohol. This will give your accessories a shiny look and what it even more important, will kill all of the bacteria. Plus, undistilled alcohol does not leave any marks on tiny surfaces.

Decorate with fresh flowers

As you are done cleaning, the only thing left to place your final spring accent. Fresh flower arrangement in a stylish vase will have the job done just right. Or, you can get a couple of mini wheat grass beds — another great idea to showcase the arrival of spring.

The last but not the least — while spring cleaning your hallway furniture,  do not forget that the choice of your cleaning means will mostly depend on the furniture material you are dealing with. Different surfaces call for different substances, and — of course — there are certain stains that are simply tougher than the others. Here is a quick guide on how to deal with removing stains from wood, marble, high gloss and glass — pretty much any furniture surface that can be found at home.
