Generally, wardrobes are quite bulky – so if your room is small, fitting a wardrobe into it might be a tough and challenging task. Fortunately, there are some compact wardrobe ideas for small rooms that might prove quite useful. Given a very vast selection of contemporary and traditional wardrobe models  UK furniture stores can offer you, finding a compact and stylish solution may prove easier than you think. To begin with, you should pay attention to some of the following options:

  Wardrobe Ideas For Small Rooms

Compact 2-door wardrobes

A very small room can benefit from a compact, two-door wardrobe. Even though such models do not usually feature great storage capacity, you sometimes have to work with the dimensions you have. The most common type of a 2-door wardrobe would be narrow and tall piece, featuring an upper (sometimes also a lower) shelf and a hanging rail. Though, of course, there can be other design patterns with more shelves, drawers and other internal storage units, optimizing wardrobe storage capacity.

Fitted wardrobes

Some of the other great wardrobe ideas for small rooms would be to find a ready-made fitted wardrobe – or order a custom one, if no ready-made model can match your dimensions. Fitted wardrobes become an integral part of your room, fit closely to every corner, and do not seem to occupy a lot of space. At the same time, they are characterized by an amazing storage capacity – you could actually fit an elephant in a wardrobe like that. It is also advisable to search for wardrobes that would have sliding doors, as such arrangement is designed particularly to optimize your room space.

High gloss surface

Speaking of design, glossy surface is one of the most visually compact arrangements there are.  Even though there are plenty of high gloss wardrobes that feature bold, eye-catching inlays (such as diamante or rhinestone inserts, LED lights, and many more), the vast majority of glossy furniture items are designed in an elegant, unobtrusive fashion. Needless to mention, this contributes to a highly compact and space efficient look of the furniture item.

Vertical inserts

If you think that a simple gloss surface will look plain, you should search for the arrangements that feature vertical decorative inserts – for example, a high gloss wardrobe with a narrow mirror, a vertical chrome or tainted glass stripe, etc. Visually, this will make your wardrobe look higher and narrower – and that is exactly the kind of look you need in a small room.

Finally, do not forget that the size of your wardrobe should not only be determined by your room dimensions, but also by the storage capacity you are looking for. If you carefully consider which items you are going to store in your wardrobe, you will be able to figure out the approximate depth, length, and height by yourself. Plus, do not forget that less typical wardrobe models do not necessarily have to be more expensive – quite on the contrary, most leading UK furniture stores  regularly offer not very popular wardrobe models for sale.
