No UK dataset tracks the resale value of furniture by colour, and Furniture in Fashion has published a report that says so rather than filling the gap with invented figures. The analysis argues that colour sets the size of the buyer pool while condition, completeness and material behaviour set the value, and that these are routinely confused. It identifies the Furniture and Furnishings (Fire) (Safety) Regulations 1988 as a genuine barrier to resale, since upholstered items supplied in the course of business must carry a permanent label that owners often remove.
