Furniture in Fashion Research & Insights

Furniture in Fashion publishes research because the furniture industry consistently discusses British homes as though they are larger and more standard than they are. This overview sets out what our 2026 research programme covers, how each report is produced and the sourcing rules we apply. Our reports are built from three kinds of evidence: verifiable specification such as standard mattress sizes, seat depths and clearance requirements; published housing context from named public bodies including the English Housing Survey and the Nationally Described Space Standard; and our own qualitative observation as a UK modern furniture retailer, expressed without invented figures. We do not publish sales, search or customer data as national findings, we do not commission survey fieldwork, and where a claim cannot be attributed we say so and move to interpretation.
