The UK Bar Tables Report 2026

A round bar table 60cm across takes roughly a quarter of the floor area of a four seat dining table while seating the same people in a pinch, and in UK kitchen diners where a conventional table has been ruled out by the room, that is the whole case for the format. New analysis from Furniture in Fashion sets out the dimensions the format depends on, starting with the seat to table underside gap of 25cm to 30cm, and notes that domestic bar tables at 100cm to 110cm high require stools with seats around 75cm to 85cm. The report finds column bases outperform four legged designs at this height, both because the clear floor lets stools tuck away and because a weighted base resists the leverage created when someone leans on a tall table.
