Furniture in Fashion's 2026 wall lighting report finds that tenure, not taste, is the dominant constraint in this category. Fitting a hardwired wall light means altering the fixed electrical installation, which most tenancy agreements prohibit, and that has turned plug in fittings, rechargeable battery units and clamp mounted lights into serious products rather than compromises.
