Recliner Sofas Materials Report: What British Homes Prefer

Recliner sofas place demands on their covering that static seating never does, according to a new materials assessment from UK furniture retailer Furniture in Fashion, which publishes no market shares and states that no verified national dataset on UK preference exists. The report analyses how each covering behaves at the flex points where the mechanism moves beneath it, finding pigmented leather more resistant to abrasion than aniline and semi aniline finishes, and tight weave fabrics better suited to the friction of a moving frame than loose weaves or velvet, which marks where the pile is compressed. It also sets out the space a recliner genuinely requires: 80cm to 100cm of clear floor in front for the footrest, additional to the room walkway, and 20cm to 30cm behind unless a wall hugger mechanism is specified.
