Garden Offices: Survey of 800 UK Owners on Furnishing & Use
Furniture in Fashion reports that garden offices in the UK fail on furnishing rather than on construction, with the building specified carefully and the furniture then bought as though it were destined for a spare bedroom. We did not commission survey fieldwork among 800 owners and no named UK body publishes comparable national data, so this 2026 report publishes the pattern we observe qualitatively instead. The analysis identifies desk depth as the most common sizing error, sets out the clearances that determine whether a small building is usable for a full working day, and explains why humidity cycling in an intermittently heated envelope is the defining material issue.
