Material choice in small dining sets is governed by room size rather than taste, according to a new editorial analysis published by Furniture in Fashion. The report finds that glass, pale wood veneers and light gloss finishes hold their place in compact British dining spaces because they reduce the visual mass of the largest object in the room, while solid dark timber and natural stone are constrained as much by delivery access and weight as by appearance.
