Choosing Dining Table and Bench Sets for a Loft Apartment

When choosing a dining table and bench set for a loft apartment, start by deciding where the dining zone sits within the open plan space, then choose a set scaled to that zone, built from materials that echo the loft itself and flexible enough to seat extra guests. Benches suit lofts particularly well because they keep sightlines low across a large room, tuck away under the table and seat more people in less width than chairs. In this guide we explain how to define a dining zone and keep clear walkways, why benches suit loft living, and how to judge table and bench sizes against both floor area and room volume. We look at materials that respond to brick, steel and concrete, from reclaimed wood to stone effect tops, and how to mix benches and chairs with a common thread. You will also find advice on dividing open space, comfort, protecting floors and styling a loft dining area....
