Home office accessories are bought reactively rather than planned, and that sequence explains most of what UK homeworkers end up spending, according to a new editorial assessment from furniture retailer Furniture in Fashion. The analysis states plainly that no survey fieldwork underpins it and publishes no spend figures, focusing instead on the repeatable order in which purchases occur: screen height is corrected first because discomfort registers within days, storage follows once paperwork and cables accumulate, lighting arrives late despite changing the room most, and cable management is bought first in shared rooms and last in dedicated ones. The report argues that each reactive purchase creates the next, with a monitor riser consuming the desk depth that then forces further buying.
