Sun loungers are among the fastest garden furniture items to assemble because they have no cabinet body to square, but the recline mechanism accounts for most of the difficulty, according to a new analysis from UK furniture retailer Furniture in Fashion. The report identifies the back rest pivot bolt as the single most common error, noting that fitting it into the wrong hole leaves a lounger that either fouls the frame or refuses to hold position. Slatted timber designs are found to have the highest fastener count with almost no adjustment, while sling and textilene models frame quickly but tension slowly, particularly in cool weather when the fabric stiffens. The analysis warns against assembling on grass, since bolts cannot be torqued reliably against an unstable base, and notes that UK side access of around 76cm to 90cm often decides where the build happens.
