If you have a large and open floor space like a studio apartment or a large hall, and you want to create a large airy open feel in your décor, you generally opt for creating spaces and partitions with dividers. What people generally do, they use dividers as a temporary feature. In reality, dividers can be used as a permanent partition to completely create separate living spaces on a floor. There are room dividers with locks that can actually create look and feel of a completely separate living space without the added effort of constructing walls or a more permanent partition. Following are some ideas how you can create or install room dividers with locks

If you want to turn your temporary partitions into permanent partitions, consider using panel locks. They can help in making your room dividers fixed in a certain position , although it is not a permanent solution and might even look obtrusive. It’s still a handy way and can help in creating divisions in an office environment where you want a cheap and effective solution and you don’t want to go with the more expensive option. Curtains are lightweight and are effective partition solutions after panel locks. The best thing about curtains is that you can hang them in any direction and in any pattern. By adding curtain locks, you can have your room effectively divided into separate living spaces. Although this does not technically fall into the same class as general room dividers with locks, but still it serves almost the same purpose and it’s a quick and cheap solution.

Ikea has a great selection of Pax frames and doors for wardrobes; one might not think that a similar solution can be applied to create a partition, but it’s quite simple and extremely effective. Pax doors are basically sliding frame doors. To add one to an existing open floor space, all you need to do is to plan your installation, lay down the slide frame bolt and everything required and then assemble. If you are clever enough, you can easily install a handle onto the Pax assembly and create room dividers with locks that can create a permanent partition for your floor space and it will really enhance the beauty to your room. The most common type of room dividers are Accordion style dividers. They are quite similar to the Pax Room dividers discussed above but have a much more detailed installation.

The best thing about these kinds of dividers is that if you have a room and you want to break it into two, you can create two separate living spaces giving privacy to the occupants of either living space. Although won’t be so effective to block out the noise as good as a dry wall, it will still serve as a good separation.
These are just a few ideas how you can effectively create a separate living space on your existing floor plan using room dividers with locks to give more privacy to the occupants of each separate living space. But you can explore more ideas in this regard depending upon your requirements.
