There is no published national index of LED lighting satisfaction in the UK, and we are not going to invent one. What we can report, and what matters more to anyone buying lighting this year, is that dissatisfaction with LED lighting is almost never about the technology. It is about specification: the wrong colour temperature, the wrong beam spread, the wrong dimming system and too few light sources in the room.
Our assessment as a UK furniture retailer is that the LED complaints we hear fall into a short and repeatable list. Light that feels clinical, light that flickers on a dimmer, a room lit brightly overhead and dimly everywhere else, and fittings that cannot be relamped when they fail. Why LED gets blamed for specification errors

Most households were never given that vocabulary. The third is flicker, hum or a refusal to dim below a certain point. Older leading edge dimmers were designed for resistive incandescent loads, and LED drivers do not behave the same way.
