When we consider French homes, we include both modern as well as old, since both designs follow a single theme. The theme gives a sense of comfortable design and rustic warmth. The color schemes are predominantly light in color. Light colors have their own attraction in nature and give a soothing effect to the environment of the home.

Most French houses include arches, which are curved in shape and give an elegant look. Other items include stonework with soft lines on them. These are the features which make up the outside structure of a house. When we enter French houses we find exposed wooden beams, walls which are finished in plaster, and the floors are many times stone, these details lend to the basic, or “simple” theme of the room.

The entrance is often a tower, round in shape, the doors are arched, many people prefer to make domes, the windows are of the multi-paned variety, and the furniture  is usually crafted of oak wood. On the inside houses they prefer to use rugs, mostly blue in color. The color blue has its own charm and always gives a cool and soft feeling. The walls are mostly filled with antiques and photographs. Pictures of scenarios, households, and individuals as well. French pottery are also unique items to consider, It will add beauty to any place that it’s kept.

French houses are, in many ways, just the opposite of American style houses. French houses are inspired by religious buildings and historical place on the outside, and the inner portion is highly decorative in nature. American houses, on the other hand, tend to be of more modern designs on the outside, with interiors which are quiet, practical, and easy to manage as compared to French houses.
