Wardrobes With Sliding Doors, Where You Can Store Your Clothes

Wardrobes  are not just a place where you can store your clothes out of view.  They are really more than that.  These days a wardrobe forms part of the décor within your bedrooms, and at the same time it keeps your clothes neatly together.  If it looks good on the outside, you will surely feel more motivated to keep it just as nice on the inside. There are so many forms and sizes of wardrobes you can get hold of these days.  Each one of them was made to cater to every one of your needs.  You can choose from all styles from a beautiful antique to a very modern look.  Some of them are free-standing, while others are built-in to create more space within your room.  If you want it to fit in with the current décor of your room, you can easily get someone to make one for you in whichever shape and color you want. The more modern wardrobes are those which you can walk into.  They have a lot of space, and you will not have a storage problem.  What I like about these is that my clothes are not hanging on top of each other, which means...

Sideboards For Sale, Touch, Style With Your Imagination

Sideboards For Sale, Touch, Style With Your Imagination

I can clearly remember the bulky cupboards we had next to our beds when we were children.  In fact, there was one in every bedroom.  Even my grandparents had their own cupboard next to their side of the bed.  As a child, you enjoy your little cupboard, as you can store all of your treasures in it without mom finding them.  Now that you are older, you realize that it takes up a lot of bedroom space and the kind of junk you can put in there is unbelievable.  Over the years, these bulky bedside cupboards have evolved into space-saving sideboards . Sideboards are not as boring as we might think they are.  They come in some of the most beautiful designs, and they can fit in perfectly with the décor you have in your room.  You also have more space available and less clutter, which you can hide in a cupboard.  Some of them have the most beautiful images carved on them.  You can choose any kind of wood you can think of and end up with one of the most beautiful pieces for your room.   The one thing I find very fascinating about the sideboards you get today is that you...

Mirrors That Add Sparkle To Your Rooms

Mirrors That Add Sparkle To Your Rooms

When you faced with the task of decorating, or redecorating, a room on a tight budget, you have to choose each item with extra consideration and care. Obviously you will want to make the most impact with the least amount of expenditure. In instances where your basic furnishings are serviceable, you can do this by spending that hard-earned cash on affordable accessories to punch up the look of your room. Throw rugs, painted tables, fancy lamps, etc. all add dimension, drama and draw the viewer’s focus to what’s new and fun in the room. Of all my favorite accessories that can add sparkle and splash to a budget décor, mirrors rank at the top of the list. A good lamp looks even better when you can see it and the knick-knacks it spotlights all reflected back in a colorfully framed looking glass. The trick of making rooms appear larger or extending the size of a small collection of vases to look like twice as many is already known and practiced by designers everywhere. So, why shouldn’t you do the same? A few well-chosen, carefully orchestrated reflections can make small rooms seem to have more depth. Placing a line of colorful collectables...

Dining Room World, Evolution in Style

Dining Room World, Evolution in Style

My dining room table, as do so many, came with a set of six matched chairs. There was one end chair with arms, presumably for the head of the house and five less ornate ones for the remainder of the spots available at the table. I liked table and chairs, but other than those times we were entertaining, at least two of them were always sitting out the meal. Dining chairs  in my house, were usually pressed into duty for other rooms when not at use with the table. I kept one at my sewing machine and my husband used one at his workbench in his garage/basement workshop. So, we had a table and four chairs until company was coming. Then we had to uproot the house to find the two others and return them to the table. Over time, one chair or another would suffer damage or get stained. I’d tuck them away and really intend to get them fixed. I usually didn’t. Instead, over time I accumulated a few odd chairs to replace them. Now, after the kids have flown the nest and a decade or three have passed, my dining room table looks much as it did when...

Coffee Tables That Lift Up, Can Do More Than Hold A Tray

Coffee Tables That Lift Up, Can Do More Than Hold A Tray

Coffee Tables Can Do More Than Hold A Tray I remember my dad didn’t like coffee tables . They were, in his words “catch alls”. By this he mean that everybody would leave things on them and they’d literally “catch all” of the junk people did not bother to put away. Fortunately, my mom prevailed and while it did get cluttered, we were able to find the surface now and again to hold a tray of drinks or a bowl of popcorn. The coffee table of today might have gotten Dad’s seal of approval. It seems they can do a lot more than catch junk and hold a tray. My neighbor has an ottoman that serves as a coffee table, and yes, it was made for that purpose. So, she can prop her feet on it, or use it for table and it looks great. My own coffee table has a couple of neat little drawers under the surface so I can hide away things like the TV remote and an other “clutter” that threatens to be “caught” on the table’s surface. Other types are inlaid with great designs or you can get a glass-topped table that not only discourages clutter on the...

A Chest of Drawer Can Pull and Come In Handy In Lots Of Places

A Chest of Drawer Can Pull and Come In Handy In Lots Of Places

If you’re like most people, the term chest of drawers probably makes you think of a bedroom. It’s a natural reaction, since that is where most people keep them. While they are primarily designed for storing clothing and personal items that one would keep in their private chambers, smart decorators don’t rule them out as convenient and attractive storage options in other parts of the home and office, as well. Some offices are going for a more casual, an almost home-like, atmosphere. That’s probably why the break room at one local podiatrist’s clinic has a real wooden table, four mix-matched chairs and for storing away paper plates, coffee mugs, and the break room “supplies”, they use a stylish if a bit shabby chic chest of drawers. It holds everything with style and keeps up the ambiance of the room. Offices, however, are not the only one finding new ways to store things in the chest that was once a bedroom exclusive. You can pick up a chest, or use one that you already have on hand and then, put it to work. In the dining room it can store table linens and even hide the extra place settings or the silver....

Bathroom Storage Accessories That Blends

Bathroom Storage Accessories That Blends

Discreet bathroom storage  should blend into the room’s décor. After all, everyone needs to store items in the bath. The best storage options provide us with the space we need, but don’t draw attention away from the carefully planned decorative scheme of the room. So, how do you choose storage for the bath that looks good and meets your storage needs?   Start with the size and layout of the room. If the room is small and, has built in items such as the bath/shower, the toilet, the sink, etc, your space is limited. So, then your storage options are going to need to be small and fit the remaining space. In a small bath, a cabinet or a shelf over the back of the toilet offers a good storage option. If you have a flat mirror over the sink, why not opt for replacing the mirror with one which secrets a cabinet? These mirrored cabinets can be recessed into the wall, saving space while providing storage. Countertop clutter in any size bathroom is a problem. Bathroom storage accessories such as toothbrush holders that also hold the toothpaste, or baskets for storing soaps and other toiletries, are good options to eliminate some of...
