Wall colors should be soft brown, ecru or tan – very neutral. Fixtures can remain whatever color they are. Floor, if tiled, needs soft ecru or white rugs. Carpeted floors can be handled with a long, beige or ecru runner. Shower curtains, towels and other linens can echo soft earth hues. Empty the countertops and other surfaces, leaving lots of open space. Then, gather rocks and branches. Place them in earth toned bowls and pottery jars all around the room.
