Plain mirror or mirrored cabinet

This is the real behavioural question in the category, and it is a trade between reflection and storage. A mirrored cabinet typically projects 120mm to 150mm from the wall. In a room with a 400mm basin and a 700mm standing zone, that projection is directly in front of the user’s face when they lean forward, and it also narrows the apparent width of the room at head height.

Our position is straightforward. In bathrooms under about three square metres, choose a plain mirror as large as the wall sensibly allows and put the storage elsewhere, whether in a tall unit or in drawers beneath the basin.
