If you want to enhance your bar stool shopping experience, you would want to know the height, material, finish and fabric beforehand to have fruitful results. Many people feel settled with just few stool designs while ignoring thousands of other options available. The 10 things to consider when shopping for the perfect bar stool for your home are as follows: Most people opt for either 26” or 30” bar stool. If you have a counter of 36” you would need 24 or 26 inch stool for that. Most standard counters are 35-37 inches high. 30” bar stools are mostly used with 40 to 42 inch height range. The counters that exceed 42” in height require 34” or larger bar stools. Second thing to consider is if you are going to use barstools more frequently or for long or short time. If you are going to use it for long time, the barstools should have backs and arms for increasing the comfort and decrease your back and shoulders stress. In case of limited horizontal space, choose armless bar stool . For extra occasional seating, backless stools are great. You can use these stools even in a situation where you don’t wish to hinder the view.

Your third consideration should be the number of stools you need. Generally, three stools can accommodate the 6 feet counter and 4 bar stools can accommodate 8 foot counter. 4th consideration: When it comes to choosing a metal or wood bar stool, metal is better than wood as it is less prone to constant outward stress on the arms which further leads to loose feel. Stretchers and legs can loosen out over the time that might make the stool potentially dangerous. 5th consideration: Metal and wood bar stools are available in many finishes. Look for a baked on or powdered finish as it is more resistant to scratch and chip. 6th consideration: Both metal and wood bar stools are available in many fabrics. Along with design and style, the fabric quality matters a lot. Look for synthetic suede fabric which is very easy to clean and durable.

7th consideration: If you want to opt for a long lasting barstool, buy leather bar stool  which also gives you an ability to breathe. 8th consideration: The price depends on the pre or post assembled barstool. If you want a bar stool less than $100, buy ready to assemble barstool. 9th consideration: You can buy these stools from any furniture store easily. Special stores have higher end tools along with various fabrics, frame styles and customization. 10th consideration: Wait not and explore the market!
