Stand or Wall Mount? Survey of 2,000 UK Households on TV Placement

We have not surveyed 2,000 households, and no published UK source records how television placement splits between stands and wall mounts. Any percentage offered on that question, by us or anyone else, would be invented. This report therefore sets out something more useful and entirely verifiable: the physical rules that decide which placement works in a given room, and the conditions under which each one fails.

The conclusion is that viewing height decides the outcome far more often than storage does. A wall mounted television is usually fixed too high, because installers and homeowners hang it at picture height rather than at eye height for a seated viewer.
