Arts and Crafts Projects That Can Be Used In Interior Decorating Projects

During the era of late 1800s to early 1900s arts and crafts (dining room furniture ) were very famous and nearly all housewives used to make hand made decorations for their houses. There are still people who like these works of art and the trend is reviving back. Hand made furniture is popular for its unique carving and natural colors. Many accessories used to be made with ceramic, copper and iron etc.

These artworks are classic, stylish and have natural captivating beauty. If you are a lover of such a style of decoration you have to look at the works of people like William Morris and Dick Van Erp. Take a look at their inspiring contributions in furniture, wall art, textile designs and lighting ideas.

Plan what colors you want as a theme. Colors like sapphire blue, mossy green, brown and deep red with contrasts of cream and ivory give a feeling of warmth and comfort. Wall papers should be chosen with oriental motifs preferably in repetitive patterns. Hardwood flooring looks nice in such a décor in long boards or squares with polished or stained dark color.

In the entrance area stone looks nice, geometric design in the kitchen and simple colors in the bathroom works well. Select traditional furniture with broad backs and arms. They can be rectangular in shape with leather or copper straps. A wooden chair with nice upholstery can be placed near the fire place with a colorful hand made painting on the side wall. Four poster beds look great with this décor. Stained glass lamp shades in tiffany style can be added with soft lights. Table lamps and scones can be placed in many places of the house. In the accessories use pottery, stoneware and goblets made of silver, copper, pewter, bronze and iron. Add details by hanging pastoral pictures on the walls.
