Houses are messy. This is a fact. Try and keep it clean and tidy as much as possible but don\u2019t give yourself a hard time if there are crumbs on the floor or dog hair on the sofa<\/a><\/strong>. A little bit of mess is actually a good thing \u2013 it\u2019s far more important to enjoy your life than to have the perfect house.<\/p>\n

Refresh, don\u2019t redecorate<\/h3>\n

Redecorating an entire house is a huge undertaking and can quickly become expensive. Instead, why don\u2019t you refresh little details like changing lampshades or swapping out your door handles for something different? Quick wins like this can actually make a big difference so why not give it a go to see how you feel?<\/p>\n

New coat of paint<\/h3>\n

By the same token, you can easily make your house feel like new by painting the walls, either the same colour or something else. A fresh coat of paint can make a world of difference and is just as important as new design, so bear this in mind before spending lots of money.<\/p>\n

Be brave<\/h3>\n

Why not take a few risks with your interior design this year? This could be by being brave with colour and opting for something like a bright yellow trim around the ceiling of the living room<\/strong><\/a>, or by seeking out some interesting art from a local artist. Take yourself out of your comfort zone \u2013 you could be surprised by the results.<\/p>\n
