No genuine national LED satisfaction index is published, so this report carries no scores or percentages and instead identifies the specification errors behind the complaints we hear: colour temperature set too cool, a single overhead source doing all the work, leading edge dimmers that were designed for incandescent loads, and sealed integrated fittings that cannot be relamped. The report sets out warm white at 2700K for living rooms and bedrooms, up to 3000K in kitchens and bathrooms, and a colour rendering index of 90 or above where colour is judged. It also argues that layering three to five sources at different heights improves a room more than any change of bulb, with room by room specifications covering colour temperature, rendering, dimming and bathroom IP zones.
