The Pros And Cons Of Glass Top Bar Tables For Kitchen

Space-efficiency – on the upside – such bar tables won’t occupy much space and will help you to create a compact and cozy dining area. The transparent top creates the impression of emty space, which is also a huge benefit for small kitchens.

Can be used for multiple purposes – glass top bar tables  for kitchen can be used for cocktail parties with friends, or, occasionally as a working area – if you need to place a small laptop.

Are easy in maintenance – the glass top is easy to clean and maintain and is usually made of tempered glass protected from scratches and breakage.

Cons

Look too ‘cold’ and minimalistic – glass top bar tables surely won’t be the best choice, if you prefer sweet country style or rustic look, so they won’t be suitable for any kitchen.

May be too tall – climbing a tall bar stool to sit at a bar table  may be fun on occasions, but most people do prefer dining room tables of standard height. All in all, the entire arrangement may feel to unstable.

May not be appropriate for families with children – glass top bar tables for kitchen may be too tall for kids, besides, kids may accidentally get hurt by bumping against sharp glass edges – if these are not protected with rubber lining.

Require buying and maintaining bar stools – you do need a bar stool to sit at the bar table, and some people prefer more conventional solutions, such as, for example, traditional dining chairs.

Glass top bar tables for kitchen are surely great means of saving space while serving an important functional purpose. Still, there are several alternatives that you may want to consider – such as folding or extending dining tables, or using the surface of a kitchen island as a dining table.
