Save Space With A Nest Of Tables

We all need little tables now and then. Company coming over mean’s we need a spot for the chips and dip. A book club meeting in your living room might mean that your need a bit more table space for the members to utilize. Whatever your excuse, investing some money in a nest of tables can be an ideal solution.

A nest of tables, also called nesting tables, refers to a set of tables (usually three) that range in size. The smallest table fits beneath the medium sized one. That medium table fits beneath the largest one. So, when not pressed into service, the smaller two are tucked beneath the largest one and look like a single table. Better yet, they take up the space of just one table. That sort of thing can be very handy when you don’t have a lot of space either due to over-crowding or small rooms.

My mother has an antique nest of tables in her living room. I remember her pulling them out for us children to eat our holiday dinners on when the dining table was full of adults. While you can find antique tables of this sort, you don’t need to go to that sort of trouble or expense. Many furniture manufacturers still make high-quality sets of graduated size tables for nesting in your living room. The craftsmanship is usually very good, and they come in a variety of finishes and styles so you can find a set to suit your own personal décor.

So, when you need a few extra tables but only have the space for one, a set of nesting tables can solve your dilemma. They are there when you need them whether you need one, two or all three, and when you don’t need them, the “extra” ones disappear!
