Oak Furniture – Symbolising Strength and Durability

What do you consider first while choosing furniture for your home? Of course the reliability and durability, the attraction and appearance comes second when we talk about the furniture for homes . People prefer wood for the furniture to be oak wood. The reason for this preference is that the oak tree is a very strong tree and is a sign of reliability and strength and therefore, so is its furniture. This does not mean that it only provides strength and the appearance is compromised. No, it provides both the reliability and the attraction. And if you do a little research, the element of affordability can also be satisfied.

English people prefer this material. The reason may be that in the Middle Ages, people used it and it is still preserved today. What else can be a bigger test for its durability? The oak furniture is also the first choice of the homeowners because it fights against the insect and the other harmful infections to wood. Termites and other destructive insects are repelled by the wood and people can depend upon it for its strength factors.

Besides the protection from insects and provision of reliability it also provides warmth to your home and makes it look more appealing. There are different types of oak that include burr oak, bog oak, tiger oak and pippy oak. All of these have varying designs but the element of steadfastness remains same. Tiger oak has prints like tigers have whereas pippy oak has prints like cats.

You must ensure the finish of the furniture to be of high quality; otherwise you waste your money. The polish should be naturally done so that it doesn’t leave stains. Moreover, the natural wax should be done at least twice a year.
