For decades now, we have all enjoyed the convenience of a bathroom vanity with a basin for washing our face, shaving our beards and, of course, brushing our teeth. They are small and usually cluttered and, uniformly, dull. The good news is that they are also now outdated. There are too many new types of modern bathroom vanity basins for you to stick with your old one. This is your wake up call. It’s type to shop for a new style.
Overall, the biggest single change from old sink-style basins it the raised basin. These sit atop the counter, with a taller faucet arching gracefully above them to fill the bowl. Unlike the heavy porcelain set-in varieties we are used to, these come in a marvelous assortment of materials, styles and colors. Some of my favorites include an artisan-styled beaten copper basin that sits upon a marble vanity top with a matching burnished copper faucet and black enamel handles to control the water flow. A similar style, done in thick frosted glass has a stainless steel countertop and a faucet with a pull out sprayer. Each of these pieces would make a dramatic change toward modernizing your bathroom vanity.
Of course, they still make bathroom vanity basins that are set into the countertop. You can find them in the usual whites, black and beiges. You can also find them in designer colors, with inlaid tile around the rim, with hand-painted water lilies decorating the bowl and all with complimenting hardware if you choose to add it So, why wait until tomorrow to update your bathroom’s vanity? Do it today. The modern looks can provide both function and style, and best yet, they set a truly cosmopolitan mood in any bathroom’s décor. Go from boring to brilliant when you choose one for your bath.
