Nests Of Tables Can Hatch Great Decorating Ideas

I’m not sure who thought up the nests of tables  that have been popular for as long as I can remember. These tables come in sets, usually three or four, and they are made in sizes ranging from small to quite large. The smaller ones fit under the next one up in size and all of them can “nest” beneath the largest. This gives them a lot of tabletop area without your having to sacrifice a great deal of space when they are not needed. They can also provide you with some fun decorating ideas for your next get-together.

I like nests of tables when I have friends over and they bring their children. I seat the adults at the dining table and give each child the table most suitable in size for their own special seat. For chairs, I substitute large pillows. This makes my little visitors feel a lot more special, and allows us grown-ups some space to talk and sip wine without those little eyes constantly on us, and those tiny ears picking up every word.

Another great use for these fun little nesting tables is holding floral arrangements or other decorations and refreshments during a bridal or baby shower. You’ll all want to sit, and there is only so much space on the coffee table  for the flowers, the stand-up of the stork or the papier-mâché wedding cake. Using the tables to hold the decorations or foods most appropriate for their varying sizes can spread the decorative theme throughout the room.
