Wood has the tendency of expanding and contracting with climatic changes and in the bathroom with high humidity level this can damage very quickly. So it is advisable to let the flooring sit in the room for at least a week before being installed. If you wish to install the flooring yourself you have to buy the materials and know the procedure well. Materials and tools needed for wood paneling are knife, tape measure, an adjustable wrench, stapler, paper underlay, pre finished wooden flooring, nail gun, jigsaw and a table saw.

To install the floor, first turn off the supply of water and empty the toilet by flushing it.  Remove the bolts in the floor on the sides of the toilet base and take it out of the bathroom. Lay down the paper underlay on the surface and cut it properly with a knife and then staple it to the sub floor. Set the flooring along the wall from where you want to begin, lay the boards with grooved ends facing the walls. Put nails in pairs through the top of the board in approximately every 10 inches. Link the boards cutting the last piece on the miter saw to fit on the side wall. Tap the board tightly to install the next course and lock them by nails on the sides. See that the end of the boards do not line up between the courses. Repeat the procedure from one side to the other. Cut the board around the toilet drain with the jigsaw and then cut the final course length wise with the table saw. Re install the toilet and then the floor trim and cover the gaps around the bathroom floor.
