How To Organize Your Shoes In A Small Closet

In any bedroom or closet,  shoes  can turn out to be one of the problem areas. Unless one organizes shoes in a small closet in the proper way, they can be no more than a jumbled mess. It can be really very frustrating if you are hurrying to search for the perfect pair of pumps to match your outfit, but everything is disorderly. If you follow some simple steps while keeping to the same routine, then it can be helpful for keeping shoes in an appropriate shape and order.

When one organizes shoes in a small closet, it is necessary to first find all the shoes you own, and bring them to a central location where they can be properly organized. Now the shoes should be matched up, and one should discard all the pairs which are old, damaged, worn, do not fit anymore or that are missing their match. Keep in mind that you can consider donating pairs of shoes that you do not want anymore to a clothing bank if they are still in reasonable condition. Shoes and clothing should never be simply thrown away, as there is always someone in need. If one organizes shoes in a small closet, then space is a major concern, and you can’t just keep everything. After assembling the matching pairs that you desire to keep, it is a good idea to divide them according to the different seasons. Pick up all the pairs which you’ll not be using for the current season, and put them in shoe boxes. You can take a picture of each pair of shoes and tape them to the appropriate box. Place the boxes on a shelf, or in a cupboard for storage. Make sure that you can see the picture after they are put away, so that you can easily identify the different shoe pairs.

Now take all the pairs which are intended to be used, and separate them either by their type or color. This organizes shoes in a small closet for you. After the shoes have been chosen according to your criteria, they can be placed in a shoe organizer. The size and shape of the organizer should be chosen according to the closet you have, and the available space in your closet. When one organizes shoes in a small closet using a shoe organizer, one should always place shoes which are used quite frequently in a spot that is easily accessible. Places which are least convenient should be chosen for shoes that aren’t used too often.

After the current season has ended, the shoes can be exchanged with those that were stored away. Now the same process should be applied for storing your current shoes – with the shoe boxes and identification pictures.
