How to clean Dining Chairs

The dining room is one of the major rooms in your home. It is the place where you conduct dinners and parties for your friends and relatives. This is the place where you receive guests and it is the place which is under the most scrutiny by outsiders and unfortunately this is the room where the most damage occurs. You know food is very likely to fall on your dining room chairs  than on any other furniture and very often it’s the dining chairs which are ruined by the children or the servants or the guests.
So keeping in mind the importance of dining room and dining chairs I think it’s safe to say that this room requires extra attention and extra care plus extra cleaning. Now you might shudder at the task – I mean most of us never learn how to clean dining chairs but since it’s
important, something has to be done. Now to clean dining chairs you need a few items.

These items are: vacuum cleaner with attachments, homemade or commercial stain remover, bucket or a bowl filled with water. These are the few things you need. Now the question is that you have the things so what next? How to clean dining chairs? Remove the dust from the dining chairs with the vacuum cleaner. Use the brush attachment of the vacuum to scrub over the flat surface and then use the narrow nozzle attachment to clean out the crevices or corners in the dining chairs. This is quite important because cleaning the flat part of the chair doesn’t actually count that much when there’s dirt collected in the corners. You have to clean it quite thoroughly. So cover every surface with the vacuum.

Treat the stains with the commercial or homemade stain remover. If you are using a commercial stain remover then spray it on the stained area and let it stay for about 5 minutes. After that gently dab that area with a wet towel and let it dry before continuing to the next step.Wait for the spots to dry and remember this can take a long time. So if you want you can leave it alone overnights as well. There is no harm in that.Clean the entire chair surface. This can be done by pouring a spoonful of common laundry detergent into a bucket and filling it with water. Then by using a sponge wash the entire chair surface and then rinse it with a soap-less towel. Then leave it to dry. Apart from these 4 steps you also have to keep in mind certain tips and precautions. These tips and precautions are:

Remove the stains as soon as you can. Don’t let them settle.. It is better to attend them ASAP otherwise they just become difficult to remove. After removing the stains always rinse thoroughly. For homemade stain removers you can use club soda, baking soda mixed with cold water and for white fabrics white wine can be used as well. When removing stains do not rub stains just dab on that area. Rubbing the stains will only just spreads it out. These were just a few tips and steps on how to clean dining chairs and these are quite effective plus they don’t take hat much time or effort. And it’s worth all the trouble when you see that your guests can find nothing bad to remark upon when they enter your home.
