Don’t fill the bedroom with unnecessary furniture and place it in such a way it will not distract you or will be felt out of place.
Probably the most important advice of all would be regarding the bed itself. Modern furniture is nice and easy to handle, but nothing compares to going back to our roots and buying wooden beds for our bedrooms. I don’t know anyone who doesn’t like wood and when it comes to the place where you sleep, wood will always make you feel welcomed and will give you a warmth feeling.
Next, why don’t you try to get some privacy? Do you feel like somebody is watching you all the time? That kind of anxiety can act in a subconscious level even if you don’t really care somebody is watching or not and can have a negative impact on your sleep. Try floor-to-ceiling draperies and your life might get better afterwards, who would’ve thought at that.
Last but not least don’t forget about the furniture at the foot of the bed. If space allows you to, place a couple of small pieces with a lush fabric that can act as extra storage.
