Dining Room Table Sizes Guide By Room Shape

There is no universal dining room table sizes guide, even though some logics while choosing the best dining table for your room is still easily traceable. That is, the most important thing while choosing a dining table  for the room is its shape and dimensions — exactly in this order. Briefly, it is possible to come up with a basic dining room table sizes guide for some of the following room shapes:

Compact square rooms

This is one of the easiest room shapes to work with — provided, of course, it is compact, not tiny. Yet, even in the latter case, it is possible to find an efficient solution. Ideally, while working with small square rooms, you should stick to the same small and square dining table models. And, of course, a lot will depend on the actual room size. If it is really small, go with 2-seater table. If it is more or less spacious, 4-seater table is a perfect suggestion. Round tables also fit in this decoration theme.

Long narrow rooms

Here, similar to the pattern described above, the best tip would be to stick to the same table shape as the room. That is, choose long rectangular or oval models. The exact seating capacity will mostly depend on the physical dimensions and on your individual expectations, of course. All in all, rectangular tables vary from 4 to 16 seater sets, which is why you should look for a model that matches both the seating capacity you need and actual space you have to work with. If you would like to have some extra seats, do not forget about extendable models.

L-shaped rooms

While working with an L-shaped room, a very nice idea would be to use the smaller part of the room as the dining area. Here, the trick is to find a table that would match your preferred seating capacity and be compact enough to fit into the area in question (which is generally rather small). As a rule, compact 4-seater oval or rectangular dining tables are great fits.

Kitchens

Once again, there is no universal dining table sizes guide for the kitchen. On the whole, all of the tips mentioned above apply: consider your room space, shape, your seating capacity, etc. Another great tip while looking for a dining table for kitchen would be to choose in favour of easy to maintain (clean especially) materials.
