Bookcase As A Part Of Bedroom Furniture Sets: 8 Decoration Ideas

Bookcase can easily become a part of bedroom furniture sets. After all, books can play as very impressive and — what is even more important — quite unusual decoration elements these days. However, to make a bookcase a part of your bedroom furniture sets, you might have to get a little bit creative — a bookcase is generally not included into a bedroom collection by default, and quite often it is not so easy to find a suitable spot for an extra unit. Yet, some of these ideas might prove pretty helpful:

Give armoires a try

Perhaps, one of the best ideas for a vintage bedroom, armoires can act as bookcases, too. Plus, going with an armoire — or a couple of identical armoires on both sides of the wall — will not disrupt your bedroom decoration picture while offering a perfect spot for keeping some of your books on display.

Create a floating pattern

Books have already become quite rare objects in our digitalised lifestyles, so chances are — you do not need an entire bookcase to store them. Sometimes, a floating arrangement of bookshelves can act a perfect substitute for a bookcase. Plus, shelves consume less space, thus offering a better solution for a compact bedroom.

Experiment with angles

Another benefit of going with shelves is that it is possible to fit them into decorative boxes and place these boxes on different height, at a different angle. This will give your room a sweet and cosy look. And, of course, it will give the environment an artsy, unusual look.

Make it contrasting

If you go with an open shelves arrangement, you can as well paint the wall behind it into a brighter colour. If your wall bookcase features both horizontal shelves and vertical subdivision into different sections, you can paint vertical lines into a brighter — or darker — colour.

Think outside the box

Shelves can also act as great accessorising elements. If you arrange them in an abstract manner, not only books, but also the placement of your shelves will create a sleek and stylish atmosphere in the bedroom. Or, you can even place your books on special hooks to display some out of the box thinking.

Dedicate an entire wall to books

Another idea you might find useful, if you have a lot of books, is to dedicate an entire wall to book storage. This will give the bedroom a consistent and logical look. If you mix in about 30% of trinkets — figurines, photos — into the arrangement, the whole set will look a lot lighter.

Do not forget about your headrest

A couple of smaller bookshelves can also fit above your bed headrest. This is not a perfect idea, but in a small bedroom it could be the only possible option.

Find ways to utilise your bedroom space

The bottom line — you should look for the best spot for a bookcase as a part of bedroom furniture sets. For example, you can utilise a small niche (if any) or fit a compact shelving unit next your wardrobe.
