While looking for bedroom designs for better sleep, it is important to consider a range of different factors. Sure, you should avoid provoking colours, like red — this is basic physiology. However, you should also focus on trends and colours you enjoy. Let’s be honest: there is nothing more relaxing than a room decorated according to your personal taste. If you enjoy the interior, if you can relax in the room — that’s it, you’re half way there! And here are some universal examples of bedroom designs for better sleep — who knows, some of them might prove to your liking.

Invest in genuine wood furniture

One of the best sleep provoking ideas would be to decorate your bedroom in a traditional style. There is nothing better for great sleep than a genuine wood bedroom collection. And, of course, you get the kind of interior that never goes out of style — and this is a huge bonus indeed.

Stick to soothing pastel colours

When it comes to choosing a dominant colour palette, pastel shades are considered to be some of the most soothing ones. If you feel that pastel walls are too dull, you can paint just one of your walls bright — usually, a wall behind the bed is a striking idea. However, remember to avoid different shades of red.

Give grey interior a chance

A grey bedroom is another fantastic idea you might want to try out. Grey is a very neutral colour and there is absolutely no doubt that has a relaxing effect on most people. If you would like to highlight modern accents in the room, choose light grey. If you are working on traditional, classic accents, you can as well experiment with darker, deeper shades of grey.

Add splashes of colour to a neutral palette

Another idea on bedroom designs for better sleep is to choose one dominant neutral shade and add splashes of colour to the interior. The above-mentioned example with one brighter wall is a nice start. And, of course, there are other, more neutral ideas. For example, you can add one accentuating shade to your neutral palette — like a set of matching curtains, rugs, and bed covers.

Experiment with lacquered furniture

Bedroom  designs for better sleep do not necessarily have to be traditional. For example, you can go with high gloss furniture — if you choose an interior neutral colour, the effect may be quite impressive. The idea is simply fantastic for a sunlit bedroom.

Get your accessories right

Creatively arranging your accessories is another thing that can make a bedroom  relaxing. On the whole, you can go with bright impersonal accessories (like the ensemble of drapes, rug, and bed cover mentioned above) or decorate your room with pictures. Frames, for example, can also be bright and serve as accents in your interior.

Bring artificial light in

Finally, a bedroom should be soothing, but it does not have to be dark. Lighting is a very important part of your decor picture, and you should make sure to highlight all the functional areas of the room.
