Bathroom Remodeling, The Best Tiles to Use in a Bathroom

Tiles are becoming a more popular choice with decorators. For the floors, the walls and even ceilings, not to mention backsplashes, countertops and shower stalls, tile has evolved from those boring old squares that had the color and texture personality of a toilet bowl, to encompass a myriad of hues, design patterns and textures. So, when it comes to bathroom remodeling, what are the best tiles to use in a bathroom? Consider the application and the location when making your choices. For instance, when tiling the floor of the bathroom furniture  you are overhauling, try a tile that offers a little more grip than slip. Many of the new floor tiles offer you a less than perfectly smooth surface that keeps them from being quite a slippery when wet. While you might still want a rug on them to keep mess to a minimum, the textures of these tiles can help prevent slips and falls and they look great, too.

When tiling walls, as well as installing tile on the walls of the shower or bath stalls, you want to choose smoother tiles that don’t have a lot of texture or any embossed or raised designs. Avoid lots of tiny tiles that will wind up with a lot of grout lines between them. Remember, every nook and cranny in the shower and bath stall can all too easily become a haven for mildew. Smooth walls can be wiped down with ease, ensuring the room is as easy to keep clean as possible.

When you floor the bath with tile, use a sloping molding tile to allow for splashes. It works a lot like a backsplash on a countertop. Tile can make quite the style statement. So, when you undertake bathroom remodeling , choose the best tiles to use in a bathroom and for each part of that room, too.
